About Effiom
Practising structural engineer with experience being the sole engineer responsible for scheming, and delivering structures with project values up to £3m. The road I'm taking to chartership is a fairly arduous process that will open doors and thought why not also give engineers in their early stages an opportunity in so far as assistance, advise and mentorship. Started giving private lessons at the beginning of 2017, a couple of months after gaining my post grad Masters in Civil Engineering. Took a while to cement the knowledge and concepts introduced whilst progressing through university which made me appreciate assistance, and figured why not reach back and assist others on similar paths, so I did!

One thing I under-appreciated whilst in education was the value of repetition with real work scenarios. Having explanations behind concepts repeatedly delivered, multiple times over multiple sessions allows knowledge to be absorbed almost like osmosis, painstakingly easy!
This will typically be carried out through frequent conversation exchange over the course of the session and as questions are attempted in order to cement those knowledge pathways. Consequently, this enables a patient approach that allows knowledge to marinate before new concepts are introduced.
