About Olivia

I am a student of Primary Education Teaching with a major in English, and I also have a B2 English certificate.

My methodology has already been used with other secondary school and primary school students, and I guarantee that it is effective. They now have greater confidence and fluency in the language. The activities are very flexible, increasing or decreasing the level depending on the student and varying the format according to their learning style and age.

The most important thing for me is that the student loses his/her shyness and feels comfortable trying to speak the language, since that way learning will be very easy.

I use a practical methodology that allows you to understand the syntax, grammar, phonetics, and vocabulary of the language in a clear, simple, and visual way.

To do this, I use materials such as pieces of colored cardboard, using different colors for each type of word: red for verbs, blue for nouns... With these, the student forms sentences or breaks down phrases, understanding grammar and syntax and increasing their vocabulary. For the latter, I also use games such as "memory," matching images with words; mime, guessing the word using gestures; the traditional game "Who am I?", guessing the word you've been given by asking and answering questions; as with the game "Who's who?", asking and answering questions to guess the character... Or the use of songs used as tricks for learning the language (for example, the chorus of "Strong Enough" to understand that "enough" follows the adjective). Among many others.

To master irregular verbs, I use an association grouping method with a pre-made list of verbs that makes learning them easy, with tricks like sounds, gestures, colors, etc.

For phonetics, I propose an alphabet with a cheat sheet of each letter's pronunciation.

In conclusion, this is a methodology in which you learn by forcing yourself to speak English, even if you make mistakes or invent words at first. The important thing is to try and overcome your embarrassment, feeling comfortable in a playful environment, to gain confidence and acquire knowledge that integrates meaningfully. The "tricks" and activities will be adapted to the student's learning method, depending on whether they are more visual, auditory, or sensorial. And they will be coordinated with the curriculum being taught in class.

Of course, the methodology and activities will be adapted to the age and level of the student, as will the content.
