About Mary
I hope to inspire confidence in students studying English and help to bring out skills that will transcend through their academic journeys whether they decide to pursue English or not!
As a 19 year old student myself, I also want to create an enjoyable learning environment with no hierarchy where we can work together to help with anything you think needs work.

My lessons would be an hour long and focused personally, to make sure that we not only go through topics students find tricky, but also develop an enjoyment for the subject.
We can either focus on general skills such as close reading analysis and how to structure English Essays, or more specific texts that need focus before upcoming exams.
As a degree level student now, I have been through GCSEs and A-levels myself and am familiar with the exam process and a lot of the texts used for these qualifications.
I have previous experience in tutoring, and my last student and I worked together to help her go from a grade 6 to a grade 9 in GCSE English Language and literature.
