About Alec
I am an artist/designer, teacher, and researcher from Galway, Ireland. English and Irish are my native languages. I studied at Limerick School of Art and Design, Technological University of the Shannon, and the TEFL Institute of Ireland and Highfield Qualifications.
I have a BA(Hons) degree in Graphic Design Communications and a Professional Masters of Education in Art, Craft, and Design. I am also qualified and experienced in teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have taught A1 to B2 levels, aged 16+.
I teach Art, Craft, and Design, and Wellbeing and SPHE in Irish Secondary Schools (ages 12 to 18), through both English and Irish.
I have also passed the 'Teastas Gaeilge Do Mhúinteoirí Iarbhunscoile' (TGMI) oral exam for teaching through Irish in Secondary Schools.
I am passionate about equity, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability.

About the lesson

I will tailor my lessons to your needs and interests.
I find that project-based and interactive lessons with games and role-play are good for helping students to learn and remember what they learnt. If you are studying for an exam or learning English for a specific event we can work towards these.
A typical lesson will be 40 minutes but should it suit you better, anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour can also be arranged. I can teach any age group or level. Feel free to contact me to see what we can arrange.
At the moment I will offer online / webcam lessons only here, but in the near future may also offer in-person.
