I believe students learn by doing rather than just reciting, so I teach using writing and reading, like reading comprehension and responses to the text. I teach K-12 and lesson plans begin with vocab which the student will read in a passage and then write a short response paper. Through the lesson we talk and discuss the content to ensure total comprehension.
