About Rui
Hi! I'm Rui. In 2018, I made a big move from China's capital, Beijing, to Canada's capital, Ottawa! Mandarin Chinese is my native language. Back in China, I spent over 14 years working in Human Resources, and a huge part of my job was employee training. This experience made me an expert in communication and in breaking down complex topics into easy, understandable parts. Here in Canada, I have formerly worked in human resources and also as a social media/content editor. Now, I'm thrilled to be a Mandarin teacher with the International and Indigenous Languages (IIL) Program, where I get to help students unlock the joy of learning Chinese! When I'm not teaching, I love DIY crafts and getting together with friends for good conversations. I can't wait to learn about your hobbies and interests so we can make them a part of our lessons!
