My teaching methodology has always been very much more practical rather than theory based.
I believe theory must be taught while the kid actually feels he is learning in practicals.
This keeps the learning interesting for the kids and he doesn't realize he is learning all the theory side by side while practicing his skills in practicals and applying the theory taught to him with it.
Theory is a very important aspect as well but I feel it should always be provided with examples and practicals that a student can practice or experience himself to make him grasp the knowledge faster.
