About Lynsey
I have a degree in Language and Linguistics, a TEFL certificate, plus teaching practice. I have experience teaching English and Literacy to both children and adults. As well as English lessons for adults, I also teach phonics to children.
I started teaching online during lockdown but have previously taught in Africa where I worked for several years. Currently, I work in a school as a Learning Support Assistant for children with learning difficulties. I have a vast amount of SEN experience. My DBS is up to date.

I believe it is important not to overwhelm the student. English is not the easiest language to learn. I will gradually introduce vocabulary, but I will begin by eliciting to find out what the student already knows about the given subjects of the lesson. I will use different examples and cover listening, speaking, reading and writing. I will use a number of practice exercises going from controlled practice to a freer practice.
After the lesson I will also provide homework exercises for practice between classes.
