About Abraham

I am a TEFL-certified English tutor, published author, and graduate of Durham University, where I completed a Joint Honours degree in History and Literature. For nearly ten years, I have tutored students at GCSE and A-Level, helping them strengthen their essay writing, deepen their understanding of literature, and develop confidence analysing complex texts. My experience working with exam students means I understand clearly what exam boards are looking for and how to guide students toward high-scoring answers and strong academic writing. As a third-culture kid and Canadian citizen raised in the British curriculum, I grew up across four different countries. This international background allows me to work easily with students from a wide range of cultures and educational systems. I am particularly comfortable supporting international students, ESL learners, and students studying in British-curriculum schools around the world. My lessons focus on the core skills needed for success in English: • Writing clear, well-structured essays • Analysing literature and language with confidence • Mastering exam techniques and mark schemes • Developing vocabulary, argument, and expression As a published author, I also bring a deeper understanding of the craft of writing itself, helping students not only prepare for exams but learn how to communicate ideas clearly, persuasively, and creatively. My teaching approach is structured, encouraging, and personalised. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s goals — whether that is improving grades, preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams, strengthening academic writing, or building fluency in English. After nearly a decade of tutoring, I have helped many students move from feeling unsure about English to achieving strong results and genuine confidence in their abilities.
