About Tommy
I'm a 27-year-old from Dublin. I am a law graduate and master's student in International political economy. I started teaching English as a tutor 2 years ago when a colleague asked me to take over from her tutor who left Ireland. I completed a six week course at the LInguaviva Centre in May 2023 to become qualified with the Trinity Cert TESOL certificate. I have one year' teaching experience in a language school in Dublin city.

I believe students of all languages need to be encouraged to use what they know and make mistakes in the presence of a tutor in order for them to gain the confidence needed for fluency. After initial assessment, I agree a work plan with my students and decide which aspect of their English needs most focus. I make use of worksheets from language schools to build on the student's vocabulary and grammar.
I speak 4 languages and have a huge interest in people and world cultures. Whether it's grammar, formal writing, or just conversation, I can assure you will find my lessons worthwhile and even fun.
