About Tom
I am a freelance writer, poet and theatre practitioner. I've always loved English and creative writing, and have run programmes with arts organisations based on teaching and enriching education experiences, because I feel many parts of the standard education system just don't do a good enough job of appreciating how hard it is to study for an exam. I still remember how much I struggled with mine, so I'm keen to provide a better a experience for newer students as I believe English to be one of the most wide reaching and applicable skills to learn.

My lessons are adapted around the individual requirements of upcoming curriculum work, but also around the personality of the student. Each student has different needs and a different way of learning, I aim to adapt to that in order to best make use of our time together. As such, I am often happy to change my pre-planned lesson structures in order to best consolidate the student's learning. Knowledge for exams isn't just about memorising information , but about the practical application of knowledge through comprehension.
