About Gonçalo
I've lived in Japan for six years and have been a language tutor and coach for two. I teach Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and speak Japanese day to day as well. I'm a published author in Portuguese and also work in copywriting and storytelling, which gives me a bit of an edge in making lessons feel alive rather than like a grammar textbook. But the truth is simple: teaching is my passion, and that's what I bring to every lesson.

I like to start from topics that genuinely matter to the person, whether it's a work project, a trip, or everyday conversation, and use that context to teach vocabulary, grammar, and expressions naturally. I love starting from scratch with complete beginners. The goal is always the same: helping you feel comfortable speaking Portuguese in real situations, without stress and without memorizing disconnected word lists.
