About Tara
I am a practicing painter and printmaker who spends the majority of my time focusing on my own work. I also teach part time at the Royal Drawing School. With twelve years experience, teaching is an important and challenging aspect of my work. I enjoy sharing my own experiences of working with others and trying to bring out the personal potential of each student. Teaching provides me with a connection to other enthusiastic and interesting people. It is a reciprocal activity that I feel provides a place of inspiration and growth.

I offer guided practical exercises based on observational drawing. My main focus is on exploring what I feel to be the important foundations of drawing and painting. These include formal concerns such as tone, line, space, form, composition and balance. My aim is to encourage and provide students with the grounding and confidence to discover more independently.
