About Paula
I am a languages- and cultures-enthusiast who not only loves learning other languages, but also enjoys teaching them. I speak English, Tagalog and Italian fluently, and have moderate proficiency in Spanish. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Arts with a major in Psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver. I took accelerated English in high school, and almost minored in Italian at UBC, except I skipped the first two years of Italian classes and went straight to third and fourth year ones; thus I lacked a few credits for a minor and like to say I have an "almost" minor.

My teaching method consists of a one-on-one continual assessment of the student's progress. I like to understand how the person best learns and their skill level to start, and then implement a learning plan incorporating that information. A typical class includes grammar, written and conversational English. The oral comprehension and language expression component specifically relates to Canadian/North American speech.
