KS3 & GCSE - a. I use clear, proven frameworks (like PETA, PETAZL and SMILE, etc) to simplify complex texts. b. Lessons are structured around exam board requirements, with lots of focus on essay writing and paragraph development. c. I aim to make English less intimidating and more achievable. Students quickly see that “difficult” texts can be broken down step by step. d. Students usually gain both grades and confidence, often moving up two levels within a term or two. AS, A-Level & University - a. Here, the focus shifts to depth and exploration. I train students to read critically and argue academically. b. We look at how to structure essays so they read with authority and meet higher-level expectations. c. My approach combines intellectual intensity with approachability; students feel stretched but supported. d. This works especially well for those preparing for university or tackling demanding essay-based subjects. Beyond the Curriculum - a. I support students with Oxbridge applications, personal statements, and interview preparation, drawing on my own academic background. b. Where students are open to it, I also help build confidence in their ideas, their writing, and their voice. c. Parents often find this side of my teaching just as valuable as the academic progress: students leave lessons not only better prepared but more assured. What Sets My Lessons Apart: * Framework-based clarity for KS3 & GCSE. * Academic intensity for A-Level and University. * Oxbridge-level preparation and personal mentoring. * A balance of rigour and encouragement that empowers students to excel. Each session is more than just a lesson: it is an investment in skills, confidence, and academic excellence that lasts well beyond the classroom.
