About Mark

I graduated from UConn with a degree in Molecular Biology and currently work as a research associate in a neuroscience lab at UMass Medical School. I have years of experience tutoring math, from high school geometry to college-level calculus. My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down complex topics into simple, understandable steps while building confidence in students. I’m especially skilled at making analogies that simplify and clarify difficult scientific and mathematical concepts, making them easier to grasp. I previously worked at Mathnasium and have taught college students, giving me a strong foundation in helping learners of all levels. I enjoy making math accessible and showing students that anyone can improve with the right guidance and practice.

About the lesson

I have years of experience tutoring students at all levels, from high school to college calculus. I tailor my approach to each student’s learning style, breaking down complex concepts into simpler steps. My goal is to build confidence, not just improve grades. With a background in molecular biology and neuroscience research, I emphasize logical thinking and problem-solving skills. Whether a student is struggling with proofs, algebra, or test prep, I make math approachable and engaging. My experience at Mathnasium and working with college students has given me the skills to explain concepts clearly and effectively

Mark was punctual, smart, and very nice. He tutored me in pre-calc and was patient with me and helped me really understand the topics not just do the problems. He also gave me his phone number to text him with questions after the lesson. Highly recommended!
