About Maria

Hello everyone, my name is Mariia Zhukovska. I am a Ukrainian student, who moved to UK in 2020 to finish my A-levels here. Now I study in Swansea University, doing a Chemistry degree. I am tutoring already 3 years in fields as Maths, English (for non-native speakers), and Chemistry.

I have always had a love for math and want to share that passion with others. Also, I have a desire to help students who struggle with math and want to make a difference in their lives. On my point of view, I have put in a lot of hard work and dedication to become skilled in maths. I can emphasize my ability to explain complex math concepts in a way that is easy for students to understand.

1. Assess the student's current level of understanding: Before I begin teaching, it's important to get a sense of where the student is at in terms of their math skills. This will help you tailor the lesson to their specific needs and avoid wasting time on concepts they already understand.

2. Set clear learning objectives: Once I know where the student is at, I can set clear goals for what you want them to achieve during the lesson. This might involve working on specific math problems, reviewing key concepts, or practicing certain skills.

3. Teach the material: With my learning objectives in mind, I can begin teaching the material. This might involve explaining concepts, demonstrating problem-solving techniques, or working through examples with the student.

4. Provide opportunities for practice: After I’ve taught the material, it's important to give the student plenty of opportunities to practice what they've learned. This might involve working through practice problems together, assigning homework, or providing additional resources for them to use on their own.

5. Assess progress: Throughout the lesson, it's important to check in with the student to see how they're doing. This will help you gauge their progress and adjust your teaching approach as needed.

Overall, the key to a successful private math lesson is to be flexible and responsive to the student's needs. By tailoring the lesson to their specific learning style and pace, you can help them build confidence and achieve their math goals.
