Hi, I’m William, an online tutor specialising in GCSE and A-level History and Politics. My lessons are structured, engaging, and exam-focused, designed to build confidence as well as strong subject knowledge.
I tailor every lesson to the student’s needs, whether that’s strengthening core understanding, improving exam technique, or preparing for assessments. I focus on:
Clear explanations of complex ideas and historical events
Active questioning to check understanding and develop confidence
Exam-focused practice, including source analysis and essay planning
Retrieval practice to help knowledge stick
Model answers and structure guidance for high-mark responses
I place particular emphasis on helping students understand cause and consequence, change and continuity, and historical interpretations — key skills for success in both History and Politics.
Most lessons last 60 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged when preparing for exams.
