About Ed
Hi, I'm Ed! I recently graduated from the University of Bath. At university I rowed at a high level and was Treasurer of the Boat Club. I also enjoy cooking, coding and many other forms of exercise.
I believe maths has to be taught from first principles. Only then do the methods you learn at school really click. Maths can feel impossible to crack at first, but once you understand why something works rather than just memorising how to do it, everything becomes much easier. That shift is what I aim to give every student, along with the confidence to tackle any question put in front of them.

I teach maths from first principles. Rather than memorising methods, students learn why each one works, so they can tackle unfamiliar questions with confidence instead of freezing when a problem looks different.
Each lesson follows a simple structure. I start by finding gaps in understanding and rebuilding the core idea from the ground up. I then work through examples together and finish with exam-style practice, gradually building speed, accuracy and exam technique using past papers. Lessons are typically 1 hour, and I tailor each one to the student's goals and pace.
I studied Mathematics at the University of Bath, and took Maths and Further Maths at A level. I have tutored students preparing for the 11+ and have taught at university level, so I'm comfortable explaining concepts at any stage.
Lessons are for students from 11+ through GCSE and A level (including Further Maths), in London or online. Whether your child needs to catch up, build confidence or push for top grades, I'll help them get there.
