About Isaac

My Background
I hold a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and another in Psychology. My teaching journey began at a teaching academy in Colombia, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of educators. I also speak fluent Spanish and had the unique experience of teaching myself English after moving to the United States at the age of 13.

My Passion for Teaching
Languages have always fascinated me. I find it incredibly interesting that there are no perfect translations—only approximate interpretations. This perspective is something I love to share with my students. Having experienced firsthand how challenging English can be, I aim to make learning it less daunting and more enjoyable.

My Teaching Philosophy
My approach is student-centered, meaning we'll focus on what interests you most. Whether it's through media like songs, movies, TV shows, or books, or through discussing current real-life events, we'll tailor our lessons to your intuitive interests.

Outside the Classroom
Outside of teaching, I am an author who enjoys writing creative nonfiction and literary fiction. I also love cooking, pop culture, spending time outdoors, and playing with my cat, Karma!

What Sets Me Apart
As someone who is neurodivergent (I have ADHD) and who had to teach myself English, I bring a unique perspective and set of experiences to my teaching. I understand the challenges of learning a new language and am committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all my students.
