About Mieke
Hello! I am Mieke, a Physics student at the University of Edinburgh who has just completed second year. I really enjoy studying physics and being able to see the applications of it in the real world.
I am keen to tutor students as I know the frustration of not being able to fully grasp a difficult concept. I enjoy being able to use my expertise to help students overcome areas of maths/physics that they were previously struggling with.

The structure of my tutorials start with asking the student what they would like to focus on in advance of the the tutoring session. From this, I will first discuss key ideas and concerns during the lesson. Once the student has grasped the concept with which they were struggling, we will work through a few problems together.
I first started tutoring in my final year of high school where I would offer support to the younger years who were studying maths. Coupled with this tutoring experience and having been through the SQA system, I am accustomed to the style and structure of questions presented at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher level.
The typical length of my tutoring sessions is either 1 hour or 0.5 hours and are ideal for students in S1/Year 7 to those sitting Advanced Higher/ A Levels.
