About Raff
I have been tutoring now for 4 years. In this time I have tutored 8 students. My GCSE students all achieved A to A* grades, with two going on to study Latin at A-level having developed an ongoing interest in the subject through our sessions. My 11+ students have also achieved top grades, being awarded places at their prospective schools.

I am a Social Anthropology graduate from the LSE, and receiver of the Jean La Fontaine prize for Outstanding First Class Honours. I have also studied Classics at Bristol University, and received a prize from the Cambridge Pre-U Board for my Latin A-level results.
I cater my lesson structures to the student's specific needs. The first couple of sessions will be about identifying the student's strengths and weaknesses, after which I draw up a focussed lesson plan on how to move forward in the most effective way. I have found in the past that students excel when they are not dreading the session (no kids like extra work!), but instead look forward to it. A positive attitude towards a subject will always achieve better results. I tend to get on very well with my students, creating a pleasant atmosphere within which to focus on improving their skills in a concentrated manner. I think I have a warm personality that students take to kindly, which is a massive help in instilling the enthusiasm needed to achieve the best results possible.

Raff has a personable nature which facilitated a positive tutor tutee relationship. He motivates his student to persevere in understanding areas in which difficulties are experienced. Raff comes in prepared with exercises but is always flexible in accommodating his tutees needs on that specific day. His punctuality and efficiency added to making the tutoring experience a successful one.

Details
Latin GCSE I charge £40/hr, though may be willing to negotiate a rate based on the number of hours.
11+ English and Maths I charge £30/hr.
If the job requires me to take the tube, I may ask for travel compensation.
