About Junia
I am 25 years old, graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder and am currently working toward pursuing my masters in Social Work. I was awarded honor roll GPA status in both high school and college, 2nd place Young Entrepreneur of the year out of 700 contestants, and I now work part time at an adults rehabilitation center. I have 4 years of experience in coaching, tutoring and mentoring individuals of all backgrounds with a variety of needs - whether that be educational, lifestyle, recovery or executive functioning based. Furthermore, I have experience in private lessons for snowboarding and playing guitar, am the oldest sister of three, and currently live in an airstream that I renovated myself! I moved around my whole life and have worked through significant hardships in order to obtain the knowledge I have today and I have devoted my career and abilities into utilizing my experience into helping others.

I believe the first most important aspects of effectively assisting a student in achieving their utmost potential in their education is understanding their learning style and identifying the areas where they struggle most. I firmly believe that upon understanding focus levels, memory ability and learning styles - any form of learning can be generated in an effective manner in accordance to this. I believe that gaining trust and rapport with your student is a crucial aspect of empowering them to achieving their goals. In my personal experience and with past coaching and tutoring, I learned that feeling believed in and called UP and not OUT on their gifts and abilities is cardinal in achieving results and growth.
My lessons consist of timeliness, efficiency, clear direction on goals and where your setbacks have impacted you previously. My lessons will include initial introduction and full understanding, formatting a tailored lesson plan based off of strengths and weaknesses, solution based growth and attainable goals. My lessons will include SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound).
I specialize in English and Literature as well as reading and grammar based subjects. My skills and ability as a tutor and mentor would be most beneficial to high school students and college students who are willing to be healthily challenged and empowered in their abilities, and open to learning new skills and strong suits that they may have not yet discovered.
