About Suzanne
I am a qualified journalist that has worked in communication for more than a decade, and I have continued to do this. I then moved into lecturing/tutoring at UQ and QUT in Brisbane for 7 years. I taught Business Communication, Academic English, and subjects in the Creative Industries. I have also completed a Master of Arts in Creative Writing.
In addition to this. I have taught at TAFE, Leadership and Management as well as Business in high schools for 3.5 years. I have experience teaching English as a Second language as well in classrooms and as a private tutor.
I have also been a private tutor for various students for many years on and off. I bring all of my professional experience to help you where you are at and for what you need.

I take a personalised, student-centred approach to tutoring, creating a supportive and engaging environment where each learner feels confident to develop their skills. I tailor every lesson to individual goals, interests and learning styles, ensuring sessions are practical, relevant and results-focused.
My teaching methodology combines clear structure with flexibility. I use guided instruction, discussion, and targeted exercises to build core skills, alongside creative and reflective techniques to strengthen writing, critical thinking and communication. I believe we learn by doing mostly, so I would provide exercises or work with you about your assignments to help you to improve your standards in real time.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, with flexibility to suit individual needs.
I teach English as a second language, business communication, English literature, research and essay writing, presentation techniques, creative writing, as well as leadership, management and business studies. I can also support students in any subject requiring strong essay or report writing skills. My lessons are suitable for secondary and tertiary students, adult learners, and professionals seeking to improve their communication and academic performance.
