About Talia
I believe tutoring is an incredible opportunity for all types of students, whether that be because you are struggling with a certain topic, wishing to further excel in a subject, or simply just hoping for some extra guidance.
As a high school student, I myself was tutored and was immensely grateful for the experience, as I was able to gain confidence in myself and my abilities. I find a lot of students struggle with confidence in their learning, and this is something I am committed to improving. I understand this struggle firsthand.
I completed Maths Methods, Physics, and Biology in VCE, and my final ATAR was 88. I am most confident in teaching maths and pre-methods as I have always enjoyed the subject.
As a University of Melbourne student I know how to study efficiently and how to actually actively learn materials. I intend on implementing my experiences into my tutoring technique, alongside the knowledge I have gained from a Bachelor of Science and VCE.

I take a clear, patient, and supportive approach to tutoring, focusing on building understanding, whilst boosting student confidence. Lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and typically run for 60 minutes, covering homework support, concept explanation, and practice questions.
I have experience helping classmates grasp difficult topics, particularly in Mathematics, and adapting explanations to different learning styles. I have received academic scholarships in high school and at the University of Melbourne, and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Science in Genetics.
I specialize in Mathematics and Science for primary students and Years 7–10, creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving their skills.

I’ve known Talia for a long time, and one thing that’s always stood out is how patient and genuinely supportive she is. She has a way of explaining things that actually makes sense, especially for people who usually struggle with maths. She doesn’t rush you or make you feel dumb for not getting something straight away — she’ll take the time to break it down until it finally clicks.
I’ve seen firsthand how much effort she puts into helping others improve, and she really cares about her students doing well, not just getting through the work. She’s also super easy to talk to, which makes learning way less stressful and a lot more comfortable.
If you’re looking for someone who’s reliable, understanding, and actually knows how to teach, I’d definitely recommend Talia.Talia is patient, trustworthy and knowledgeable person and I highly recommend her as a tutor. I know her through school and our studies where she excels with mathematics.
Knowing her personally as a friend as well makes me confident in her tutoring abilities as she is kind and understanding as well as determined when it comes to doing a task with complete understanding.Talia was the best tutor i’ve had!! she’s so kind, organised and very encouraging. She helped me a lot with understanding my math problems. She’s so smart and was determined to help me learn and i’m glad because studying together really helped saved my grades. 10/10
