About Alan
In high school, I always kept a sheet of paper with "broad concepts" written on it. For every homework assignment, I picked the relevant concept from my paper and derived details from it until I arrived at a way to solve the problem. This technique led me to study Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan. Later, I went on to develop a Coursera rocketry curriculum with a professor where each lesson ended with a similar outline.

When students try to forcefully solve the problem with few methods they learned, they struggle because a lot of times, the problem doesn’t match the conditions to use those methods. My extensive outlines tells the students what can and cannot be assumed which points them to the correct problem-solving method.

Perfect! Conveys concepts very well
- Jason's son Corbin is very focused. Corbin is good at recognizing patterns from examples. Some of Corbin's weaknesses are a lack of foundation in early algebra concepts and determining which mathematical operations are valid. He has a very strong potential for growth.Alan's response :
