About Maha
If you’re looking for a tutor who is supportive, organized, and genuinely invested in your progress, you are in the right place.
I have over two years of experience teaching GCSE Math, Biology, Business, and English, and I achieved A* and A grades in my own GCSEs, so I understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how to help you reach those top grades. As a university student and writer, I combine strong subject knowledge with clear explanations and structured lessons.
I chose to study Psychology because I have always been fascinated by how people think, learn, and grow. Understanding how the mind works has completely shaped the way I teach. I know that every student learns differently, which is why I adapt my explanations and techniques to suit you and not the other way around.
I love reading, exploring new ideas, and continuously learning, and I bring that curiosity and enthusiasm into my lessons.
More than anything, I genuinely want to help young students feel capable and confident. I know exams can feel overwhelming, but with the right structure, guidance, and consistent practice, improvement becomes very achievable. I create a focused but comfortable environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and grow from them.
My goal is not just to help you pass, it is to help you learn something new and meaningful, and believe in your own ability.

My teaching approach is student-centred, structured, and encouraging. I focus on building strong foundational understanding before moving to exam technique and application. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable steps and adapt my explanations depending on how each student learns best: whether that’s through visual aids, practice questions, discussion, or real-life examples.
For GCSE subjects such as Maths, Biology, Business, and English, I combine content mastery with exam strategy. We practice past-paper questions regularly, analyse mark schemes, and work on time management to ensure students feel confident in exam conditions.
For creative writing and poetry, I encourage originality while teaching structure, technique, and critical thinking skills.
Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes long. A standard session includes:
A quick recap of previous material
Focused teaching on a specific topic
Guided practice with exam-style questions
Independent practice with feedback
Clear targets for improvement
I also set independent tasks to be completed after each lesson, before the next one. These tasks are tailored to the student’s specific weaknesses and reinforce what we covered in class.
My lessons are primarily for GCSE students (ages 14–17), as well as anyone interested in exploring creative writing and poetry
