About Jamie
I am a student at the University of Utah school of dance. My dance training includes ballet, modern dance, contemporary, hip-pop, jazz, west African dance, Chinese dance, Chinese martial art, and Taichi. I have experiences in teaching classical ballet , and teaching people with Parkinson disease to dance.

I believe dance is to feel good not to look good!
Dance technique will come with time if you try hard enough, but the artistic and your passion towards dance is what is most important for dancers. I believe dance is for everyone, and dance is good for both mental and physical health.
I approach all my classes starting with a little meditation for students to check in with themselves, and do warm ups together. As we go through the class, we will do multiple combinations, and cool down together. We will slowly work through everything together as the students need.
Most importantly! I make sure every class my student is trying their best that day, giving themselves what exactly their body (either physically or mentally) needs, and to HAVE FUN!
I highly encourage everyone- dancers and non- dancers, to take my class to move around, have fun, and feel good about yourself and your body! Dance is for everyone! I look forward to see you in class!
