About Katie

As a native Chinese speaker raised and educated in China, I am dedicated to bridging the cultural gap between the Western and Eastern worlds. While my degree from Oxford may not be directly related to language learning, my commitment to teaching Chinese reading and speaking began in 2019, initially assisting US students with Chinese learning. More recently, I've expanded my tutoring endeavors to include teenagers in various subjects, helping them boost their grades and achieve academic success.

About the lesson

Drawing from my own experience of becoming fluent in English, I empathize with the struggles of language acquisition and strive to ensure the learning journey is enjoyable rather than arduous. My teaching style revolves around an interactive approach, where language learning is intertwined with exploring Chinese culture, philosophy, and history. Each session is not just about mastering the language but also delving into the rich tapestry of Chinese heritage. Join me in unraveling the mysteries of Mandarin while embarking on a fascinating exploration of Chinese history.
