About Katie
My name is Katie Nelson and I have been teaching all things science for over a dozen years and tutoring for even longer. I have a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill and a Masters in Education from UNCC. I have taught in a traditional public high school, a Montessori high school, and currently teach at an independent school. I have taught all levels of high school chemistry courses, including IB and AP, and I have taught Standard level, Honors and AP Physics 1. I find joy in helping students understand a difficult concept in a fun and engaging way.
