About Ansh

Hi I’m Ansh!

I’m a math major at Vanderbilt University, one of the top 10 universities in the US, and I scored a 1560 on the SAT. Preparing for this test taught me that a great score comes from strategy as much as knowledge, and I’m excited to pass that on to you.

When you work with me, you get a tutor who has recently been in your shoes. I know which habits waste time, which traps catch students off guard, and which shortcuts make the biggest difference. Everything I teach comes from methods I tested on myself, which took me from a 1350 to a 1560 in just one attempt, so you can trust that it works.

I take my role seriously. I show up prepared to every session, explain things clearly, and listen to what you need. You’ll never be rushed or made to feel that a question is too small to ask. My goal is for you to leave each lesson knowing exactly what to do differently, and to walk into test day feeling calm and ready.

If you want a patient, organized tutor who knows the SAT inside and out, I would be glad to help you reach your target score.

Hi, I’m Ansh, a math major at Vanderbilt University who scored a 1560 on the SAT. I know the test from the student’s side, and I can help you get a great score too.

My Philosophy: The SAT Tests the Test

The SAT doesn’t measure how smart you are or how much you know. It measures how well you’ve mastered the test itself. It has patterns, repeated question types, and predictable traps, and students who learn them score higher than students who simply know more math or grammar. That’s why I teach the test, not just the subject.

My Teaching Method

Math: I advocate using Desmos on around 90% of the math section, with almost no written calculations. Graphing, solving systems, checking answers, and handling equations in Desmos is faster and far less error-prone than working by hand. I’ll teach you exactly when and how to use it, along with the shortcuts and formulas worth memorizing.

English: While studying, I developed my own set of tips and rules for each question type, from grammar and punctuation to reading comprehension. These are the same techniques that helped me reach my score, and I’ll teach you to apply them quickly and confidently.

Learning from mistakes: After every practice set, we review each error and figure out whether it was a concept gap, a careless slip, or a timing issue, then fix that specific cause.

A Typical Lesson (60 minutes)
Review (10 min): Go over last week’s homework and questions.
New strategy (25 min): Learn one math or English technique with examples.
Timed practice (15 min): Try SAT-style questions under real conditions.
Wrap-up (10 min): Review mistakes and set focused homework.

We take a full practice test every few weeks to track progress.

What Sets Me Apart

I scored in the top 1% and developed many of my own strategies along the way, so you’re learning methods that have been tested firsthand. I’m patient, and every lesson is built around your goals and target score.

Who It’s For

High school students at any level, from those aiming for 1200 to those pushing past 1500, who want help with math, English, or both, including students dealing with test anxiety or timing.
