About Shoshana

Hi everyone! My name is Shoshana, and I am an experienced teacher with 7 years under my belt from middle school to undergraduate contexts. I have undergraduate degrees in mathematics and computer science from Brown University, where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with highest honors, and where my GPA was 4.0/4.0.

In the undergraduate setting, I have taught a total of 8 different courses including discrete mathematics, calculus, logic, and computer science. I also have taught middle schoolers and high schoolers across STEM in after-school programs for 4 years.

About the lesson

I am open to tutoring K-12 math, university-level discrete mathematics, and introductory computer science. I encourage you to reach out to see if we're a good subject fit!

As I tutor, I strive to be helpful, patient, encouraging, warm, and supportive. Learning is an emotional endeavor, and I will help you keep motivated and believe in yourself! I am skilled at finding different ways to explain concepts, as well as breaking down a concept and building up to understanding it. Through our time together, I hope to help you become a better learner: through working on the specific material you bring to the lesson, we will work on developing learning strategies that work for you. For example, if you have a math test around the corner, I will help you develop the skill of preparing effectively for a test.
