About D'Angelo
Hey there! I’m D’Angelo Minnis. First and foremost, I am a curious learner who has a crazy passion for web design. I specialize in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I went to college and got two degrees for computer science and graphic design, and fell in love with coding and creating designs. With over 6 years of experience, I’ve designed and developed multiple websites for clients in a variety of businesses. I created my own company called Logo Genius, and I also contract freelance work for clients building websites and creating branding kits. In my free time, I spend time designing logos and art, as well as coding small fun web projects to hone my skills. I love to work with people at any level of coding experience, so let’s do some learning together!

My teaching method consists of a four-part process:
1) Explain the lesson material with an overview of concepts and vocabulary to understand the material.
2) Demo the lesson material with a hands-on, step-by-step walkthrough.
3) Give the lesson materials covered to the student for review.
4) Give homework to the student to practice the lesson material learned, and review the homework together.
I’ve found that this four-part process allows for students to learn visually by seeing the material demoed while asking questions - which will help enhance the student’s understanding of the material.
A typical lesson could like this:
LESSON: Making images display on HTML web page
1) Provide an overview of how to display images on web pages.
- How to display images using tags
- How to stylize images using CSS
2) Demo a lesson of me coding and stylizing images on an html web page.
3) Send the lesson material notes to the student. Be sure to review the notes before doing your homework.
4) HW: On your HTML web page, code three images of your choice. Make sure the images are 500x500px.
The thing that sets me apart as a tutor is that I’m a curious learner who is not afraid to make mistakes. I’ve learned that to truly learn something, you must be okay with making mistakes and failing sometimes. Throughout the process of learning web development, there will be hiccups along the way. By allowing the student to make mistakes and learn from them, I am able to create a friendly and curious learning environment for everyone!
My lessons are available for beginners who are just starting out, all the way to experienced web developers who may need help on specific things. People from all ranges of experience in the web design and development world are welcome to come learn!
