Perfect! My wife and I joined Nicolas’ photography workshop in Central Park, and honestly, it was such a great experience. My wife had literally just bought her first SLR the day before, and Nicolas did a brilliant job walking her through all the core technical bits — exposure, aperture, all that stuff — in a way that actually made sense. By the end she was already focusing more on composition and framing rather than just fumbling with settings.

I picked up a lot myself too, even though I’ve been shooting for a while. Nicolas has that rare mix of deep technical knowledge and a really easygoing, encouraging teaching style. It never felt rushed or too “classroom-y” — more like hanging out with a very talented friend who happens to make everything click (pun intended).

Would absolutely recommend his workshop to anyone, beginner or not. Great vibe, great location, and an all-around awesome event.

With a detailed plan developed by Nicolas in place for each session, he learned so much and came away truly excited about photography helping establish a new hobby. He even worked beautifully with our old 15-year-old digital camera, showing that great teaching is all about skill and creativity, not just fancy equipment. He taught me the basics from scratch, and in a single lesson I learned enough to get started. He was patient and easy going, and has considerable experience as a photographer and teacher.
