About Milana

I have been playing chess since I was seven years old, and at 18 years old, I have been the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Champion in my age group for the past ten years. I earned my Woman Candidate Master title at the age of 11 at the European Championship in Romania, and became a Woman FIDE Master at 16. My highest career rating in the standard chess discipline is 2238. ♟️
Throughout my youth career, I have achieved strong results at both European and World level, including five silver and bronze medals at the European Youth Rapid and Blitz Championships, as well as a bronze medal at the World Youth Blitz Championship in 2019. I am also a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national team and compete professionally in both men's and women's senior leagues for several chess clubs.
One of the biggest highlights of my career so far was representing Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest in 2024. I finished the Olympiad undefeated, gained over 100 rating points, and ranked 13th among 907 women competing at the Olympiad. I also earned my first norm toward the Woman International Master (WIM) title, making this one of the most important milestones of my chess career. ♟️
In the same year, I was selected by FIDE as one of 12 young chess talents from around the world to participate in the FIDE Chessable Academy Camp in Menorca, Spain. These experiences have given me valuable experience competing at the international level, and I’m excited to continue developing as a player while sharing that experience with my students.
I am currently preparing for the 2026 Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where I look forward to representing Bosnia and Herzegovina once again and continuing to compete at the highest international level. ♟️

♟️Your improvement starts with understanding your game.♟️
Before starting regular lessons, I offer a free 30-minute introductory session where we get to know each other, discuss your goals, assess your current level, and identify the areas with the greatest potential for improvement — openings, middlegames, endgames, tactics, calculation, or strategic thinking.
My coaching is built around one simple principle: every student is different, so every training plan should be different. Each lesson is fully personalized to your level, goals, playing style, and learning pace. Rather than simply showing you the “best move,” I focus on helping you understand why it works, how to find it yourself, and how to apply the same thinking in your own games.
Depending on your needs, our training may include:
♟️ Tactical patterns and calculation
Strategic thinking and positional understanding
️ Opening preparation and repertoire building
Tournament and opponent preparation
Deep analysis of your own games
♜ Middlegame planning and decision-making
Endgame technique
Identifying weaknesses and building a clear improvement plan
I use high-quality chess books, ChessBase, modern analytical tools, and carefully selected exercises. When appropriate, I also provide personalized homework and study materials so you can continue improving between sessions. My goal is not just to help you win more games, but to help you become a stronger independent thinker at the board — someone who understands positions, recognizes opportunities, calculates accurately, and makes better decisions under pressure. Whether you are a complete beginner, ambitious junior, club player, or tournament competitor, we will build the training around where you are now and where you want to go.The first step is simple: book your free 30-minute introductory lesson, and let's find out how much stronger your chess can become. ♟️The price covers a one-hour, one-on-one lesson. I’m also happy to discuss different lesson durations, group training, and personalized training packages. Discounted packages are available for students who book 5 or 10 lessons in advance.
