About Alex
I'm a Royal Birmingham Conservatoire trained professional actor with over 10 years experience and working with over 100 companies! (Type in Alex Ranahan on a search engine to see!)
I've written, directed, produced and starred in a comedy series that has been sent to Channel 4; won two special awards for directing a show at a national competition in China; worked in several countries as a presenter, teacher, and performing arts course designer and have even judged a professional beauty contest as a guest of honour!
I've also lived with the Temiar tribe in the Malaysian jungle and taught English to migrants.

I give audition lessons to all manner of age and ability - but you're here to get into drama school, like I did.
My teaching method is based upon:
1. Understanding YOU. What you bring, how you are normally and how you are when auditioning - there may be a difference!
2. A personal approach of fine-tuning what you bring to the table. You are unique, lets celebrate that.
3. Analysis of choices, text and performance.
4. Audition technique.
5. Performance exercises.
6. Q&A
My approach comes from my own practice over 10 years - mainly Stainslavski, Method, Guskin and my own Ranahanian style.
