About Kirstin
I have a master's in college student development. I specialize in helping students adapt to college life and making the most of their education and experience. I help with organizing notes, writing and approaching syllabi. I also have an interest in tutoring younger students. As a Virginian I would like to tutor young students with the state Standards of Learning (SOLs). With this population I also would like to tutor parents on how to study with their student.

I have a different approach depending whether the student is K-12 or in college. For K-12 I want to tutor the student and parent on how to approach studying, spending half the session with the student covering reading/math and half providing the parent with online educational resources and a handout of study suggestions.
With college students, I provide a handout of general college study skills. I tutor them on how to tackle their syllabi and writing at the college level. With psychology/sociology/biology intro courses, I can provide more honed help with studying and writing. I can also help with APA formatting and resumes.
