About Mailee

Hi! My name is Mailee, I am passionate about helping students succeed in English. I understand that every student learns differently, so I focus on making lessons clear, engaging, and tailored to each student's needs. I have experience working with middle schoolers, and take pride in being patient, reliable, and encouraging. My goal is to not only improve grades, but also boost confidence and help students enjoy learning again. About the lesson

I like to make it enjoyable and memorable. I feel as though it helps kids want to learn and focus each time. I want them to be able to enjoy a class then can be difficult at times.
My lessons are more for middle schoolers however I can help with early high school.

English Lesson Plan (60min)

1. Warm Up (thinking and Engaging)
Introducing new vocabulary word. Using it in a sentence
" what is something that got your attention this week something read or seen"

2. Reading Activity
Practice Reading and Comprehension
- Short story or article
-Read aloud together or taking turns
Comprehension Questions
- Main idea
- Character change
- what do you think will happen next

3. Vocabulary Focus
- 3-5 words from reading
-Discuss meaning, parts of speech
- Use each in a sentence
create a sketch or doodle of the words meaning help remember

4. Writing Practice
Reinforce skills and creativity
- Focus on their creative writing through word used previously
- Re-writing a different ending for what we read earlier.

5. Wrap-Up
- What was learned in the lesson
- Fun activity to go over what was learned (Kahoot)
- Give a small assignment suggestion to help them remember what was learned.
