About Clint
Strict discipline is rarely the catalyst for artistic growth in my private studio. I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin from the University of Michigan School of Music and maintain an active performance schedule with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. My 11 years of instruction span from 4-year-old beginners to high schoolers aiming for college auditions.
Guidance provided here focuses on the nuance of technique and the depth of musical history. I currently teach from my home studio in Chicago and welcome interested violinists to reach out to discuss their specific goals.

Your initial hour begins with an assessment of your technical foundation and current repertoire comfort. You deserve a curriculum that includes custom scale and etude sheets for each student to ensure steady progress.
I utilize my 11 years of performance and pedagogy to correct left hand agility and double stops while refining your approach to ABRSM or Trinity grade exams. Developing a 8.0 level of proficiency requires meticulous attention to tuning by ear and deep music theory integration.
My background as an orchestral musician allows me to offer specific insights into phrasing and tone production. These technical exercises serve as the vehicle for your musical expression. Watching a student resolve a complex passage after careful study remains the most rewarding part of this process.
