About Sarah
I have been tutoring in algebra since I started taking algebra. In algebra I had a very smart math teacher, who was so smart that she had never struggled in math, so she didn't know how to teach math to students having a hard time. So, I began tutoring my peers in algebra so they could stay afloat in class, and I kept tutoring my peers in math until I finished high school. At this point I have tutored in math at Kumon Learning Center, at Mathnasium, and as a private tutor for 10 years. Most of my students earn an “A” in class, and I’ve never tutored a student that’s gotten below a “B” in math, even when said student came to me with a “D”, an “F”, or an incomplete (40% or less) as a grade. I’ve taught at least 60 students at this point. I like a good challenge.

I just finished my Bachelor's degree in Education. I’ve tutored all levels of math, from the basics of number recognition through geometry. My teaching approach is to find what excites my student, and then teach with that as motivation. When I'm finished teaching, my goal is that my students can teach me what they are doing, how they are doing it, and why that they are using that specific method to solve their math problem.
