About Joanne

I am a Chemical & Process Engineering student in my second year of university. I have taught for over 3 years and all my GCSE students have achieved at least a pass, with many achieving more than required. My younger students have all been brought to a level where they are on top of their class curriculum and working towards being ahead of it.

About the lesson

On my first session i like to see what the student is like and ask in what way they learn best. I understand first hand that everyone is different and each individual will have their own way of learning and understanding subjects.

I use many different styles and methods of teaching to explain the topics depending upon the student’s ability and attitude. I feel like learning takes place on many different levels so sessions will be mixed and will be interactive and the students will have ample opportunities to ask questions at any part of the session. Introducing exam style questions is a technique i like to use as early on as possible so that the student doesn't panic and feel out of place when the exam paper comes. I use everyday life experiences to explain difficult topics and keep my tutee involved in each and every step.

Clive

Joanna is a trustworthy teacher for many reasons, firstly she is very good at what she dos as she has helped m and several people i know within different subject fields including maths, media and science. Secondly she takes pride in her punctuality (she is regularly on time), and also she works extremely well with kids and teenagers alike as i have personally only ever seen positive responses from children towards her warming and friendly approach.

Joanne has proved to me on various occasions that she knows what she is speaking about or attempting to teach you and does so in a way that's not imposing but makes you feel like a friend is actually there trying to help you out and i appreciate that and highly recommend Joanne to others seeking her assistance with their studies.
