About Bob
While I love playing all kinds of board games, I am a physician by profession. I teach backgammon as a hobby because I like to pass my knowledge and expertise to others. I am available for both in-person and online lessons. In 2022, I played in my first American Backgammon Tour tournament in Los Angeles and I placed 4th/5th in the Advanced division. In June of 2023, I played in another American Backgammon Tour tournament in Los Angeles and I finished 3rd/4th in the speed-gammon tournament. In December of 2023, I played in the California Backgammon Tournament and I was the Consolation winner in the Advanced division, and I finished in 5th place in the Amateur Jackpot tournament. I won 80% of my matches in the California Backgammon Tournament. Just recently I played in the New York Metropolitan Open and I was the finalist (second place) in the Young & Restless event (under 60 years of age) out of 64 entries. But more importantly, one of my students that I started tutoring less than a year ago finished in second place in the women's cup at the same tournament.

I started playing backgammon when I was 10 years old and I've been playing for more than 40 years. I have won many local tournaments as well as online tournaments.
It doesn't matter if you're a novice player or an advanced player. I can help you learn everything you need to know about the game.

Perfect! Bob has great backgammon knowledge and communicates clearly

Perfect! Bob is excellent !! super flexible and easy to work with. a great communicator and this was the first lesson for my 7 year old son, 2 of his friends decided to join him and ALL 3 of them didn't want the lesson to end. at night, my son asked to play backgammon with me.

Bob is an excellent teacher. He knows not just how to play the game at an advanced level, but more importantly how to teach. He has personally taught me how to pip count efficiently + some advanced formulas to calculate take and double positions.
